On Thursday, July 23, 2026, BPS (Statistics Indonesia) of Sidoarjo Regency held a presentation on the final evaluation results of the 2026 "Desa Cinta Statistik" (Desa Cantik/Village that Loves Statistics) guidance program. The event took place in the meeting room of the Sidoarjo Regency Community and Village Empowerment Agency. Attendees included the Head of BPS Sidoarjo Regency, the Head of the Sidoarjo Regency Agriculture and Food Agency, the Secretary of the Sidoarjo Regency Community and Village Empowerment Agency, the Head of Krembung District, and a technical expert from Commission X of the House of Representatives (DPR RI)—representing the PKS faction for the Surabaya–Sidoarjo electoral district.
The entire 2026 Desa Cantik guidance program has concluded in three participating villages: Waung, Balonggarut, and Kandangan, all located in Krembung District. Through a collaboration between BPS Sidoarjo Regency, the Communication and Informatics Agency, and the Community and Village Empowerment Agency, various statistical activities—specifically socio-economic data collection—were carried out from April to July 2026. These activities serve as a foundation for formulating more targeted village development policies.
This meeting served as an opportunity to present the guidance results to stakeholders and to reinforce the commitment to the program's sustainability through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BPS Sidoarjo Regency and the three participating villages. Additionally, scholarships were awarded to underprivileged students, demonstrating a commitment to improving the quality of human resources within the villages.
It is hoped that the input, critiques, and suggestions from all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) and stakeholders will provide valuable insights for fostering a statistical culture at the village level, ensuring that high-quality data continues to serve as the basis for more effective, targeted, and sustainable development planning.
