BPS Sidoarjo Provides UMKM Data Collection Training in Pucanganom
In an effort to improve the quality of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) data, the BPS - Statistics Sidoarjo Regency conducted a training session on data collection for Pucanganom Village officials on Friday, February 28, 2025. The event took place at the Pucanganom Village Office and was attended by the Village Secretary, Head of Government Affairs, village staff, and community cadres.
In 2025, Pucanganom Village aims to enhance its UMKM database. However, village officials faced challenges in determining the first steps to obtain high-quality data. Therefore, BPS Sidoarjo, as the official data custodian, provided guidance on the UMKM data collection process based on the Generic Statistical Business Process Model (GSBPM) standard.
The training session was interactive and filled with enthusiasm. Participants attentively followed the presentation, especially during discussions on the concepts and definitions of UMKM data collection.
Mrs. Sanusi, one of the statistical agents from Pucanganom Village, expressed her appreciation for the training. “We are very grateful for the guidance from BPS. We have wanted to improve our UMKM database for some time but didn’t know where to start. With BPS’s direction, we now understand how to properly collect and process data so it can be used to support development programs,” she said.
With this training, it is expected that village officials can implement a more systematic and standardized data collection method, ensuring accurate UMKM data that can be used for policy-making and local economic development.
