Sidoarjo, Indonesia – In a continued effort to foster a psychologically healthy work environment, the BPS-Statistics of Sidoarjo Regency (BPS Sidoarjo) is initiating a research collaboration with the Department of Psychology at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo (UMSIDA). An initial meeting was held on [insert meeting date], at UMSIDA’s Campus C, between representatives from BPS and the Psychology Department.

The meeting was attended by Royhan Faradis, Change Ambassador of BPS Sidoarjo, and Ach Taufik from the Pojok Statistik (Potik) BPS Team, who were received by Ghozali Rusyid Affandi, S.Psi., M.A, Head of the Psychology Program at UMSIDA.

This meeting focused on an initiative called MAWAR, short for Workload Management and Relaxation—a program that reflects BPS Sidoarjo’s commitment to addressing psychological issues in the workplace. On this occasion, the BPS team officially submitted a proposal for a joint research collaboration with UMSIDA’s Psychology Department.

The proposal is motivated by growing indications of psychological challenges within the BPS Sidoarjo work environment, including:

  1. Excessive anxiety experienced by some staff members,

  2. Increased stress levels due to job demands, and

  3. Emerging trust issues among colleagues.

“Through this collaboration, we hope that UMSIDA’s Psychology Department can conduct scientific research with BPS employees as the observation unit and provide evidence-based policy recommendations or intervention strategies,” said Royhan Faradis.

The MAWAR program is expected to be a milestone in strengthening human resource management within government institutions, in line with the spirit of bureaucratic reform and improving the quality of public service through employee well-being.
