After establishing a collaboration a few months ago on the Pojok Statistik program, Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo (Umsida) once again welcomed the BPS-Statistics Sidoarjo Regency (BPS) on Friday (12/07/2024) in the GKB 1 meeting room to continue the collaboration related to Pojok Statistik. Umsida's Vice-Rector 1, Dr. Hana Catur Wahyuni, ST MT, warmly welcomed the continuation of this partnership, considering the positive results from the ongoing Pojok Statistik program. Dr. Hana stated, "This collaboration is part of Umsida's efforts to expand its community service. Moreover, there are currently many programs from The Ministry of Education and Culture that can be collaborated with various partners for Umsida lecturers' community service."
In addition to fostering relations, the Head of BPS-Statistics Sidoarjo Regency, Mohammad Ismail S.Si MEc Dev, reported the progress of the MoU related to the Pojok Statistik program that has been running for several months. "We have registered this program with the virtual Pojok Statistik and must maintain the consistency of activities within it, which are directly evaluated by the BPS-Statistics Indonesia. Alhamdulillah, Umsida is among the active categories with regular monthly activities," explained Ismail.
He added that there are several activities evaluated by the BPS related to literacy, consultation, and statistical education. "We need to increase consultations that opened every two weeks on Fridays, including considering online consultations," he added.
BPS has also initiated various activities with Umsida such as webinars, guest lectures, or practitioners teaching. It is hoped that Umsida can also participate in these activities to expose statistical data in Sidoarjo. Specifically, for this webinar, we named it Ngulik. In addition to the Pojok Statistik program, BPS is very open to the Merdeka Belajar program. It is hoped that this program becomes part of the cooperation between BPS-Statistics Sidoarjo Regency and Umsida, allowing students to engage in statistical training, especially in the Desa Cinta Statistik training program in August, which involves all villages in East Java.
Regarding Umsida's statistical agents, consisting of 8 students, Ismail hopes they can continue to regenerate the team. "If these statistical agents continue and perform well, they can be involved in other BPS programs, both at the district, provincial, and central BPS levels. I am confident that there are still many activities that need to be amplified," he concluded.
