The 2026 Economic Census Socialization was held again by the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) in Sidoarjo Regency on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Held in the Ballroom of the Aston Hotel in Sidoarjo, the event was opened by Dr. Zulkipli, Head of the East Java Province Statistics Agency (BPS), who emphasized the importance of the Economic Census for regions like Sidoarjo Regency and emphasized the strategic importance of this socialization as a strategic step to support the successful implementation of the 2026 Economic Census next year.
Ms. Puti Guntur Sukarno, Member of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), explained that the 2026 Economic Census is not merely about recording numbers, but rather a collective effort to understand ourselves as an economic nation, assess strengths, identify weaknesses, and plan for a more independent future.
Dr. Muchamad Romzi, Director of Statistics Analysis and Development at BPS, served as a resource person, providing insight into the use of data and information for the public, as well as understanding that the 2026 Economic Census is a strategic step to support the economic transformation towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.
