Statistical Literacy Webinar 11.0

Umsida Statistics Corner once again held an educational activity in the form of an international webinar featuring speakers from the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI), namely Mr. Seyyed Mahdi Sadati Nooshabadi, who serves as an Expert on International Affairs and Statistics at SCI.

In his presentation entitled Data Products: A Case Study from Iran, Sadati conveyed the importance of statistics produced by the National Statistical Office (NSO). Sadati gave an example of how SCI plays an important role in supporting national policy making by providing high-quality, diverse, and timely data products,

SCI also continues to modernize data collection methods, including one of which is taking an example from what was developed by Indonesia in utilizing satellite imagery to measure the density of an area.

This webinar provides a perspective that shows the importance of statistical support in producing quality policies.
