This year's Sidoarjo Regency Statistical Development Index (IPS) showed a figure of 2.51. "This result should be appreciated as a positive achievement, even though it is slightly below our expectations of 2.60. "However, this is a sign that we are on the right track and ready to increase our achievements in the coming year," said Mr. Mohammad Isma'il when opening the Coordination Meeting (07/11/2024).

In the Development II Bappeda meeting room, he gave important recommendations regarding the need for Sidoarjo Regency to carry out periodic reviews and evaluations of the principles of Data and Information Systems (SDI). With selective steps, it is hoped that next year's Evaluation of Development Statistical System (EPSS) score will reach 2.60, according to our collective expectations.

Another concrete step is to develop guidelines for GSBPM-based statistical business processes, from planning to data dissemination. This guide will be an important guide in maximizing each stage of the statistical process carried out. Apart from that, collaboration between BPS, Diskominfo and Bappeda is also deemed necessary to form sectoral development guidelines next year, becoming a kind of "red thread" to determine the direction of integrated sectoral development.

Currently, BPS is working on improvements to the proposed metadata, where up to now 50 Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) have successfully submitted proposals. Even so, BPS still emphasizes the importance of metadata quality which cannot be forced.

Sidoarjo Regency's achievements are also impressive; with 187 recommendations published, Sidoarjo was recorded as the highest district in the province. This is proof of the large amount of strategic data in the Sidoarjo area, which shows great potential for further development. As a form of appreciation, BPS plans to give awards to the three best OPDs with the most romantic applications.

Mr. Munari from Bappeda also appreciated this achievement. Even though he has not achieved the ideal target, he is humble and admits that this is the best achievement we can strive for this year. Likewise, Nawang from Bappeda reminded that this increase was encouraging, up 0.21 points from last year and exceeding the BPS target, although only by a difference of 0.01.

With this spirit, let's make this achievement a collective motivation to achieve higher targets. Of course, support from all parties will be very valuable for a better Sidoarjo in the field of statistics!
